4 Unregretted Kitchen Purchases
So, we all buy things that at the time seem like great ideas (everything on Amazon is a great idea at 2am), but then end up very lonely cupboard-dwellers. We also buy things that turn out to be even more useful than anticipated! Here are my top 4 unregretted kitchen purchases:
- Cuisinart Mini Saucepan, $22: Yeah, this was a bit of a reactionary buy when I tried to make a single serving of oatmeal in a large pot and it totally all stuck to the bottom. But, aside from a perfect oatmeal vessel, I use this saucepan all the time to re-heat soups and curries, and make small quantities of sauce and boiled veggies.
- Microplan zester, $14: In addition to zesting citrus, you can mince garlic in 5 seconds. ‘Nuff said.
- Mini food processor, $39: I don’t have room for it’s larger brother, but this mini food processor is perfect for making pesto and other dips that you want to have some texture (blenders are good for well, blending). Working in batches, it’s also great for chopping veggies and ricing cauliflower.
- 8 Inch Bistro Bowl, $7: One of my most used dishes, this bowl is perfect for pasta and large salads. Its low, wide profile ensures maximum sauce and dressing space!
